Glickman completes promotional short,
hopes to secure funding for feature

Joe Glickman, founder of Albany-based Crystal Horizon Productions, has recently completed a 12 minute promotional preview for his upcoming feature, A Whisper in the Wind. Glickman is currently submitting the promotional piece to festivals and studios in the hope of securing financing for the extended feature-length version.

UI members and guests were treated to a screening of the short at the October 2 meeting of Upstate Independents. Although shot on consumer format VHS with limited funding and resources, Glickman displayed a keen eye for interesting compositions and a good feel for tight editing. Viewers commented that Glickman's sense of humor surfaced in what was essentially a romantic sentimental story and suggested that he embellish the comic element of the material.

The story follows a couple of soulmates through the 1960s, beyond their untimely deaths, into the present day lives of their reincarnations. They meet, fall in love again, as their destiny is fulfilled.

Editing for the preview was completed in May and stars Glickman himself, as well as Nick Barber, Michael Mayotte, Heather Skinner and Art Ritter. "They all dedicated their very best to this project - more than I could ask for," says Glickman. "I hope this script gets off the ground so that I have the opportunity to collaborate with this terrific cast and crew again."
